Building a Future of Hope and Opportunity
Empowering HIV Positive Youth Across Rwanda
Dream Village is a youth led NGO founded in 2016 with a bold vision: to transform the lives of HIV positive youth and young adults into empowered leaders and social change agents.
We believe that young people living with HIV should not be seen as objects of charity, but as innovators, problem-solvers, and role models who inspire others to overcome challenges and build a stronger society.
Our Vision
A Rwanda in which people living with HIV are seen as agents of change rather than objects of charity.
Our Mission
To provide a supportive arena on which social change agents can flourish and influence the society’s status Quo.
Our Story
Dream Village began as a small community initiative and has grown into a national youth NGO is certified by NGOsource, (equivalent to a U.S. public charity). Over the years, we have:
- Empowered over 7,000 direct beneficiaries with skills and support.
- Positively impacted 30,000 lives through community engagement and projects.
- Built strong partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, and international organizations.
- Reached a coverage of 9 districts with our programs.
Our work goes beyond survival enabling young people to thrive, innovate, and lead.
We focus on four core areas of impact
Innovation & Empowerment
From bamboo product training to the Rwanda Nook Hub and youth startup incubation, Dream Village equips young people to lead sustainable businesses and break the cycle of poverty.
Health & Support
Programs like the Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters (CATS) provide counselling, mentorship, and treatment adherence support for HIV positive youth.
Skills & Employment
Projects like SOYEE offer vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and financial inclusion pathways for vulnerable youth, especially girls.
Agriculture & Nutrition
Initiatives in organic farming, Moringa cultivation, and agroforestry improve both nutrition and income generation.
Our Values
Humanity: Every person deserves dignity, respect, and opportunity.
Accountability: We are transparent to our communities, partners, and beneficiaries.
Integrity: We act with honesty and fairness in all our actions.
Inclusivity: No one is left behind, including young people with disabilities.
